“Oh did you hear about-”

No. I’m a goblin who lives in a cave.

“Oh will you be making it to-”

No. Goblin. Cave.

Am no havin Children

A brilliant Scots poem by @enniesaurus on Twitter

[Video Description: A pale-skinned, red-haired woman speaks with a Scottish accent. She says: “Hi, this poem is called I’m no’ havein’ Children.

I’m no’ havin’ children, ‘am gonnae hae weans,

And ye can ask what a cry them, no ‘what are their names’

And they’ll be getting a piece, no a wee ‘packed lunch’

And they’ll be haein a scran, no ‘having a munch’

They’ll fanny aboot, they won’t waste time

When they write their wee poyums, I’ll make sure they rhyme.

I’m no ‘having children’, am gonna hae weans,

Who’ll be gowpin and bealin’ when they’ve goat aches and pains

And instead of ‘don’t worry’, a’ll say ‘dinnae fash’,

Instead of ‘stand your ground’, ‘dinnae take any snash’

Ma weans will be crabbit, no ‘in a bad mood’

And they’ll greet, no ‘cry’ when their day isnae good.

I’m no ‘having children’, am gonna hae weans,

With a proud ancient language crammed in their wee brains

An whenever life tells them their English is bad

I’ll tell them the hassles that their mammy had

And a’ll say ma maw’s words till the day that am deid

‘Ye’ll be alright hen, ye’ve a guid Scots tongue in yer heid.

Thank you.”

She then turns off the camera. End Video Description.]

#do u think that it was awkward in the group when the rest found out that shere khan hunted down and tried to kill a kid multiple times? #im not discussing the ethics of shere khan trying to kill a child or whether mowgli deserved it or not im just wondering like. #was it awkward for them #do u think tigger and hobbes text abt him and how they can’t invite him to big family bbqs anymore bc of chris and calvin? #does tony stop posting group pics that have shere khan in them bc he doesn’t want to lose his kelloggs endorsement? #tigress probably is the neutral party bc humans don’t even exist to her #is there a big drunken blowout between them one night where the tension is too strong #and shere khan yells about how ‘you don’t understand! he tied a fucking ON FIRE BRANCH to my TAIL!! i was traumatized!’ #and theyre all like ‘you don’t think he was traumatized??? you were hunting him and telling the whole jungle you were going to kill him!’ #there’s a scuffle that ends in tigress holding back shere khan and both tigger and calvin holding back tony… #eventually the latter two convince tony to leave the restaurant for some fresh air #and and shere khan breaks down and sobs that he just wants his fucking friends back while the rest of the restaurant watches in silence? #idk something to think about

I’m working in a primary school library temporarily and yesterday was my first day. some kids - year 4s so 8 or 9 - came during their lunch break to hang out and while they were with me one of them said I need a sign with my name on it (he was too shy to ask my name outright), so I made one, then the other one borrowed my pen to add a smiley face. I think it’s gonna be ok.

What I find hilarious is, that they are communicating completely different things.

Goats butt heads. It’s not exactly aggression, but it’s always relevant to dominance. That goat is trying very hard to start a fight.

But to the horse, this is a gentle “hello” kind of head bump, and the horse is trying to be polite and return the gesture.

Tinikling

I am both in awe of their rhythm and if fear dor their ankles. *chef’s kiss*

I learned how to dance something similar to this in the third grade. in Cambodia it’s called the Pestle Dance, and it is WAY slower than this, and it is still REALLY hard to do the turny bits without getting your ankles banged up. it was my least favorite dance to learn because it hurts like a bitch when your foot gets caught. that is god-tier levels of talent.

I‘m so happy to see traditional Filipino dances being hyped up here! I grew up watching these dances everywhere and have even seen diaspora kids dance hip hop ON TOP of doing the tinikling dance 🌟🇵🇭🔥

Tinikling irog ko ❤️ this is one of those things that’s simple in theory but actually really really hard to do and these kids are amazing 🇵🇭

i love reading sad books bc when your own grief is stopped up inside you like a clogged drain you can grieve for a character on a page and understand that you’re also grieving for yourself a little bit

normalize not celebrating xmas. like every single piece of media involving xmas in any way shape or form has everyone celebrating it like no matter their religion they just like do it for the spirit or the holiday or whatever and if they originally don’t it ends w them giving in out of consideration and being guilted. like if you love xmas, that’s great. i love bubble tea and i love rosh hashanah, but i don’t expect everyone to love them or even experience them. it’s not sad for me if someone doesn’t enjoy them bc i’m not a self obsessed prick who assumes everyone else enjoys and celebrates the same things i do. pls be respectful this year, pls acknowledge xmas IS NOT a secular holiday, please do not other and exclude those who do not celebrate it. and btw this goes beyond inclusive language.

So at what point does “men are inherently evil” and being pro-transgender become compatible? Even if you’re one of the absolute geniuses that think trans women are good but trans men are bad?

What is it about men that makes them evil? Is it their biology? The way their brain is wired? Is it their identity? Their masculinity?

At what point, then, does a trans woman become good? At birth? When she discovers she is a woman? When she comes out? When she transitions?

At what point does a trans man become bad? At birth? When he discovers he is a man? When he comes out? When he transitions?

What about non-binary people? What about femme boys? Butch women? What inherent qualities of womanhood and manhood affect them?

The thing is this line of questioning in and of itself is very presumptuous and not really compatible with transness as we see it today. Being a radfem is absolutely incompatible with being pro-transgender rights. If all men are trash you are, inherently, going to have to tangle with bio-essentialism. And in that case, if you’re transgender, then you’ve already lost.

prokopetz:

Two things that can be true at the same time:

1. This whole business whereby every time a media creator turns out to be a terrible person, suddenly their work has retroactively always been entirely without merit, no right-minded individual has ever derived the slightest enjoyment from it, and every single person who ever called themselves a fan at any point in time is either stupid or evil is just the the just-world fallacy in a funny hat, and represents an actively dangerous way of thinking about media, because the inevitably corollary of ”only bad people enjoy the work of bad people” is “I know I’m not a bad person, therefore none of the media creators whose work I enjoy can possibly have done anything wrong ever”.

2. Once a media creator has, in fact, demonstrated that they intend to use the revenue and exposure derived from their work for evil, it’s reasonable to turn a critical eye to how folks engage with that creator’s work from that point forward.
